Update the NVM Firmware on the Intel S2600ST Family to support VMWare 7.1+

Download the NVM firmware 3.51 update onboard NIC cards https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28264/

boot to “EFI Shell” using the server boot menu, should be either “F6” or “F10” depending on server.

Yellow command line will come up, drive mapping will be up top, usb should be “FS0:” but it could be FS1: or FS2: best thing is to make sure all other USB devices are uplugged to avoid it as coming up as something else. If there is no FS0 try a different usb stick.

STEP 1

1. Download S2600ST_NVMUpdatePackage_ V3.51 and Download S2600ST_NVMUpdatePackage_ V3.51 from the link above.

2. Copy both folder to a flash drive

3. From your server go to BOIS settings

(MAKE SURE BIOS IS ON BIOS Version SE5C620.86b.02.0.01.0012)

4. Once in BIOS go to Boot Manager Launch EFI Shell

5. Once in EFI Shell

Type Fs0:

Then press Enter

6. Type dir then press enter

7. Type cd s2600st_NVMUpdatePackage_v3.51 press enter

8. Type dir press enter

9. Type cd x722_NVMUpdate_v3.51_EFIx64 press enter

10. Type dir press enter

11. Type cd Disable SFP ports press enter

12. Type dir press enter

13. Type nvmupdate64e.efi press enter

14. Type “01” press enter

15. Type “N” press enter

16. Press any key to exit

17. Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete ***MUST REBOOT TO FINISH STEP 1***

18. Leave USB inserted while rebooting

23. Type cd “2port” and hit enter

24. Type dir and hit enter

25. Type cd STP_2Pv4.10_X722_NVMUpdate_EFIx64 and hit enter

26. Type Dir and hit enter

27. Type nvmupdate64e.efi and hit enter

28. Type “01” and hit enter

29. Type “n” and hit enter

30. Press enter

31. Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete leave flash drive in until reboot is done
